Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"An Italian friend recommended that we visit here whilst in Milan and my gosh the food and service didn’t disappoint. The waiter talked us through his recommendations (everything was his first answer) and kept checking in throughout the meal which made it a great, personable experience. We didn’t feel rushed and truly felt relaxed as the whole atmosphere was cozy and intimate. The default option is to order via a QR code but he accepted the ‘old fashioned’ way of paying cash as well. If we ever return to Milan we will definitely go back."
"Absolutely delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Servers/owners were very friendly and attentive. You order through a QR code at the table and it’s a very streamlined service. Nice to have it in multiple languages to prevent any miscommunications! Trio dessert was excellent. Don’t miss it!"
"The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the setting is incredibly beautiful. Every detail — from the dishes to the atmosphere — made the experience feel special. Highly recommended when in Milan."
"Amazing find, enjoyed visiting g this restaurant I. Late December. We got the plin pasta (delicious)and the truffle pasta (even more so). Their tiramisu was also top notch. Very pleased to visit and appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. Also, love the pictures of the dog generals on the walls :)"
"I usually rely heavily on reviews and ratings, and let me tell you—Bottega Farina truly earns them. From the moment you walk in, the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. A special shout-out to the sommelier, who actually knows his stuff and doesn't just give you a sales pitch. As for the food? Words aren't enough. It’s a must-visit proper pasta"
"The food was excellent. We enjoyed every pasta dish, all perfectly seasoned and clearly made from fresh ingredients. The tiramisu was exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and very pleasant. However, we were surprised by a €20 service fee added to the bill without prior notice. Since all orders are placed by visitors through a QR code app and interaction with staff is minimal, this charge felt very unfair."
"The food was 5/5 and very delicious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. However the service structure of this restaurant is bizarre and not great. Patrons are asked to order via your smart phone. Ok, not quite the typical experience for a fine dining establishment, but I can see how it enables staff to better serve guests. But you can't order wine via the menu. The real problem is that youre charged a "service fee" with your bill. They even changed an extra fee for our 3 year old. If you're going to make people order via an app, it's inappropriate to charge an additional service fee. It's fine if you want to save money on labor, but you don't get to charge guests extra for that, especially at a "high end" restaurant. I would get food to go if I ever returned here. Edit: just read a great NYT piece which summarized the issue here: "an automated restaurant experience seems inhuman.""
"An absolute must while in Milan! The place is really cozy, the waiters attentive and the food excellent. I had the best lasagna i’ve ever eaten (i’ve tried a lot!) and their deserts (tiramisu and chocolate fondant) were also tasty. Our favorite restaurant of our trip, by far!!"
